My name is Rafael Guimarães Barbosa, and my story is one of perseverance against the odds. I started creating games at 14, without even owning a computer. Armed with nothing but a pencil, paper, and a magazine titled “Make Your Game – Games in Flash,” I taught myself ActionScript. My first “game” was a simple sketch of a game on paper—a humble beginning for a dream that would not die.

At 16, after years of saving and hard work as a market vendor, I bought my first computer—a humble Positivo. That machine, financed over 12 months, was my gateway to a world of possibilities. My first real game was a replica of the classic Atari game, Asteroids. It was basic—just a triangle ship shooting at asteroids that split into smaller pieces. But it was mine, and it was the beginning.

Blitz3D was where I learned the fundamentals of programming and structured coding. But life had other plans, and I had to put my dreams on hold. At 28, I decided to rekindle that dream. I immersed myself in 3D modeling with ZBrush and Blender, studied Unity, learned C#, and explored animation, design, and more. The path has been anything but easy.

The COVID-19 pandemic hit hard. I lost almost everything and had to return to working with my father at the market. Yet, the dream of Propósito Evolve endured. Two games, Cartoonesco and SkyFall, were canceled due to the pandemic’s financial impact. But every setback was a lesson, a step closer to our ultimate goal: to evolve, to grow, to create something extraordinary.
